When I got married, I have to accompany my husband to various formal events. With this exposure, I come to know about various kind of events and dress codes and below is a brief description of all:
- White tablecloth restaurants: An upscale or expensive restaurant, as opposed to a casual or fast-food restaurant.
- A black-tie event is a formal social event such as a party at which people wear formal clothes called evening dress.
- A white tie event is even more formal than a black tie and usually happens in royal affairs.
Dress Suits
- Suit: Jacket and pants are made up of the same material. E.g. Tuxedo (a place in New York, usually dark color and worn in the evening in black tie events with a black bow tie)., leisure suits(different colors), fashion suits.
- Pocket squares
- Waist jackets
- Waistbands
- Lapel on the suit: Notch lapel (more casual); shawl lapel(very formal and only reserved for the tuxedos); peak lapel
