Trailing spouse

Today's society is all about coining terms and terminology, I wonder that being specific has become so important. Since I got married, I not only moved to a new home rather to a new country. And, a few years later to another country. It has been over 7 years I have been living the life of a trailing spouse. Though no one forced me, it comes naturally to an Indian girl, to be with her husband in all situations, so I did the same.
Before marriage, I was an independent, modern girl, having aspirations of living my life at my own terms. Just after marriage, I moved to a distant land for the first time. Life moved at such a quick pace, I hardly could understand anything. It seems exciting to get exposure to the other side of the world but it comes at a price as well.
It is not only about that I have to make adjustments with many things, but it also takes lots of patience and understanding. And, everyone is not the same and also in the same situation. Therefore, outcomes vary a lot. Many times, I challenged with self-worth or loss of identity, which is quite to feel in such situations. No one in my both families has stayed abroad before, so discussing all these things with them was not very helpful.
Identity crisis is very crucial and makes everything questionable. One thing that kept me going through all this was Volunteering. Though I was not being paid in money, I got benefited from it in other ways.

In today's digital world and with the advancement of technology, using the plastic currency is no longer a choice rather it has become mandatory to use the plastic currency. Credit cards, debit cards, prepaid cards, credit history, online bank account, and online money transfer, mobile payments have become a part of our routine life. We should be very informed and careful while doing any transaction with the plastic currency whether online or using ATM or mobile as we would be with our paper currency. Sometimes, I wonder that plastic currency is more vulnerable than the cash, do you think the same.

When it comes to skincare, I prefer natural cosmetics. This is because our skin is semi-permeable, therefore even things applied tropically can penetrate deeper into the skin.

बर्फीले पहाड़

लोग अक्सर पूंछते हैं क्यूं हम बर्फीले पहाड़ों में जीवन बसर करते हैं ?
मैं पूछती हूं बता मुझको  एक जगह जहां मिलती है हर सहूलियत,
कहीं सूरज का तेज है, कहीं रेत का आडम्बर,
फिर मेरे पहाड़ों का क्या दोष, इसपर गिरती है अक्सर बर्फ,  चाहे मई हो या दिसंबर ॥
पहाड़ हो या बर्फ, ख़ूबसूरती को कितना भी बयां करो अधूरा है, करने को महसूस इसे, यहां हर लम्हा जीना ज़रूरी है ॥

बर्फ की चादर से जब-जब पहाड़  ढकते हैं ।
दिल के दायरे में नाजाने कितने अरमान उलझते हैं ॥

सफ़ेद बर्फ से ढकी राहों पर जब तुम-हम चलते हैं ।
ना जाने कितनी बार गिरते फिसलते हैं ।
इस एहसास को जीने को,बेहिसाब दिल तरसते हैं ॥

बर्फ के फूल जब-जब बरसते हैं, लगता है धरती-धरती नहीं  रही, जन्नत हो मानो ।
कुदरत की इस नुमाइंदगी को देखने को, कितने दिल धड़कते हैं ॥

सर्द बर्फीले तूफानों में जब-जब हम अटकते  हैं, खुदा की बस एक नियामत पाने को सिर नाजाने कितने झुकते हैं  ।
लोग अक्सर पूंछते हैं क्यूं हम बर्फीले पहाड़ों में जीवन बसर करते हैं,
मैं पूछती हूं बता मुझको एक जगह, जहां  खुदा दिखता है,
एक बार पहाड़ों में आ कर देख, यहां हर मोड़ पर रब बसता है ॥

प्रकृति की परिभाषा

पहाड़ों की भी अपनी भाषा होती है, जितनी  ऊंचाई, उतनी ही गहराई होती है ।
धीरे-धीरे पहाड़ बात करने लगते हैं, एक अनजानी डोर से बांधें रखते हैं ॥

पहाड़ों की गोद से झीलें झलकती हैं ।
पानी की बूँदें आंखों में चमकती हैं ॥

इनका ठंडा शीतल जल आत्मा तृपत कर देता है ।
थके हुए राही को मंज़िल पर बढ़ने  की गति देता है॥

तन्हा कभी मह्सूस नहीं होता, पहाड़ों की ख़ामोशी में एक गूंज होती है ।
मानो कोई बुला राह हो नाम मेरा, तू क्यूं भटक रही है, तू किसे ढूंढ़ती है ॥

हर मुड़ती राह एक पहेली है, ये खूबसूरत वादियां ही अब मेरी सहेली हैं ।
कभी बादलों की घटा जमी पर उतर आती है ।
कभी सफ़ेद बर्फ की चादर अठखेलियों करती है।
किसे पता था प्रकृति भी इस कदर हंसती   है॥

जीवन जब थक हार कर बैठ जाता है, अच्छे बुरे ख़यालों का ताना-बाना बुनता है ।
हवा का झोंका झकझोर देता है, सब थकान उदासी को उधेड़ देता है ॥

जब दिवाकर दस्तक देता है दूर कहीं  ऊँची  चोटी पर, उजालों की किरणों से मन का सब अंधकार  छंट जाता है।
किसे पता था पहाड़ों  से लिपट कर घर-परिवार मिलता  है ॥

पहाड़ों की भी अपनी भाषा होती है, एक अनजानी डोर से बांधें होती है  ॥

कल तक मेरी दुनिया चार-दीवारी थी ।
टीवी पर न्यूज़ सुनना, मानो मजबूरी थी॥

समय बदला, स्थान बदला, दिन-काल, संसार बदला ।
कलतक जो आँगन की छुई-मुई थी, आज NRI हुई ।
देश से निकलकर देश से एक नई पहचान हुई ॥

नए-नए लोगों से आलाप हुआ, कुछ मीठा-मीठा संवाद हुआ ।
जब सम्बन्ध गहराया तो, असलियत से मुलाकात हुई ॥

औपचारिकता के दायरे से बाहर लोग पूंछते हैं ।
क्या भारत की सड़कों पर बलात्कारी घूमते हैं ॥

जहां 8-महीने की बच्ची नहीं सुरक्षित है, कैसी विकृत, संकुचित मानसिकता है ।
कैसे कहूं निर्भया एक दुखित अपवाद है, जहां देश का आंकड़ा देता कुछ और ही गवाई है ॥

समय के तूफ़ान में सारा सुनहरी इतिहास मटमैला हो गया ।
भारत मेरा नाजाने कब बहन-बेटियों की इज़्जत का लुटेरा हो गया ॥

कब तक छिपाऊं अपने देश के ज़ख़्मों को, कहकर बाहरी ताकतों का है प्रोपेगंडा ।
जहॉं कभी जीन्स, कभी साड़ी, या शायद लड़की होना ही है बलात्कार का फंडा ।
किस विश्वास से कहूं, visit my country , it is Incredible !ndia ॥ 

बेमतलबी ख्याल

बस इतनी ही दोस्ती, इतना ही विश्वास था
क्यूं मेरे मन में था ये भुलेखा, कि वो दोस्त मेरा ख़ास था

Life in Developed Countries

I often get so many flyers and newsletters in my mailbox, the content of these flyers sometimes really amaze me. If I would have been living in India, I would have hardly believed.  In western countries, you need to make arrangements for everything. Your cremation, your old age medical care, organ donation and what not...And, there are proper lawyers for making all these arrangements. Really amazed!!!!!!!!
